Dear fans,
As you all know we are working on this non-profit project for quite some time now. We hope you are all pleased with our work and the free albums (keep up the downloads!). Me and Jesse, all other participators and all musicians work on these albums without any fee or payment. So, as a not for profit project, we would really appreciate any donation to fund a part of our future projects and plans and keep our recording project (and projects like ours) alive.
Maarten

Starting 01.12.09 we will update our website every week with a top 5 of tips by people who are working in the music industry worldwide. Interesting cultural projects, music, video(s), links, new bands, and other interesting or weird stuff. Check it out! There's some really cool stuff out here.

11. Stan Vreeken 26.03.10, (aka Stan Diego):
1. Mcsweeneys A really cool literary site, founded by the likes of Dave Eggers and Bruce Hornsby. Daily updated with stories and ideas by various talented writers from America.
2. Im Here A brilliant and bittersweet short movie bij Spike Jonze, in an online cinema!
3. Hot Chip - I Feel Better One of the weirdest video clips I've seen in a long time.
4. 826National 826 National is a nonprofit tutoring, writing, and publishing organization for children with locations in eight cities across America. A really good initiative.
5. Walt Disney & Salvador Dali - Destino A short animanted cartoon by Dali and Disney. The production started in 1946, and it premiered in 2003. Music by Armando Dominguez.

10. Raffa & Rainer 23.02.10, (a great 2 piece band from Miami, myspace):
1. Sweat Records Miami This is the local kick ass record store in our hometown.  But it is way more than just a place to buy stuff. If you are in Miami and you want to know about anything worth doing, you can find out about it through Lauren Reskin and Jasin Jimenez, store owners and local promoters.  The blog is always juicy and the in-store events inspiring! Best coffee and vegan cupcakes in the city too.
2. Atomisk Records is a collective of musicians who all met and played in Miami many years ago and have since spread throughout the world. They have produced a bunch of awesome bands and solo projects and continue to post great music on their site. All new interesting stuff done by really talented people. There are always a bunch of free downloads!
3. Airship Rocketship This is an insanely good band. Never mind that Rainer is the guitarist for it (I put this on the list when he wasn't looking!), never mind that not one band member currently lives in the same city or state as another band member.....the important thing is that they just released an amazing new album on Honor Roll Music and its available to download for free on their website  Hopefully someday, the band will get back together and confuse and delight crowds once again.
4. Jen Stark We are always blown away by our friend Jen Stark's artwork. Seems like everyone else is just as impressed. This Miami Girl is kicking serious butt these days. She's everywhere!
5. www.vangloria.net/pureimagination/ Pure Imagination is a radio show that we can't get enough of. The stories are intelligent, intricate and wacky, the reading makes monotone cool again and the music is thoughtful and well placed.  If you're lucky enough to be in town when the creator Matt Gajewsky does a live reading, you won't be dissappointed. Check out this short piece on him at http://www.youtube.com/user/artstreetmiami#p/u/29/s98sK9TfGPo

09. Jordan Power 15.02.10, (Engineer at 301 studios in Sydney Australia (e-mail):
1. Ernest Ellis - awesome band from Sydney, Australia. New filmclip 'Heading For The Cold' is one of my all time favourite clips already.
2. Volcano Choir - Features the guys from Collections of Colonies of Bees and Bon Iver, and pretty much sounds like a second Bon Iver album. Really Lush and spacious.
3. TapeOp Magazine - Best Audio Engineering magazine around. Practical tips, great gear reviews and interviews with the worlds leading producers and Engineers.
4. Empire Audio Labs - Brand new studio in Newcastle, Australia with an old school creative vibe. A bit of a hike for most readers I am sure, but a great studio!
5. Jim Jarmusch - Film Maker/Director from the US. He has been my favourite director for years, just starting to get back into his films recently. Particularly 'Night On Earth', 'Coffee and Cigarettes', 'Down By Law' and 'Dead Man'. He always uses a similar cast. Tom Waits, Bill Murray, Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi and Roberto Benigni seem to be some of His favourites. great films.

08. Niels Aalberts 07.02.10, (Super manager and pro blogger from The Netherlands (ehpo.net):
1. After a wild ride with Dutch prodigy Kyteman (movie) I will hand over his management and the marketing of his brilliant 24-piece Hiphop Orchestra on April 1st. I'm really look forward to exploring new grounds after the craziest and best 2 years in my working life so far. I might even start writing a book...
2. Putting together Perfect Dusty, a free-for-all compilation of my favourite Dusty Springfield tracks. She's the greatest female singer of all time (yes, that includes Aretha!). This (movie) might top the list, but tomorrow it'll probably be another gem (I guess "I Think It's Gonna Rain Today"). Get your own copy on my blog on February 16th.
3 Days later I will be leaving for the French snow (movie)...
4. ...Together with snowboard newby Crispijn, his sister and their mother. This movie and this movie will definitely be playing through the car stereo on our way to France.
5. Of course I'll keep you informed on the progress of my book and all our family's adventures through my favourite social platform (http://twitter.com/EHPO), even while crashing or drinking.

07. Sander Kerkhof 25.01.10, (music journalist from gthe Netherlands):
1. Young photographer Nick Helderman spends his days riding on buses and hopping on planes with the likes of The Ex, Women, Sleepy Sun and makes up close and personal shots. He earned a nomination for the Lex van Rossen award this year.
2. Together with Joker and Gemmy, producer Guy Middleton a,k.a. Guido brings Bristol back to the musical limelight. resident advisor & MySpace
3. You've Got To Hear This One, a straight 8 film by Vera van de Sandt and Sander de Vries. One Super 8 cartridge and no editing. Starring 50 Cent and his bitches.
4. Introducing (the band) brings the music of one of my favourite albums, Entroducing by DJ Shadow, to the live stage.
5. Mirka Duijn & Nina Spiering made Manitoba,  a short movie about Frank (Raymond Thiry) who washes ashore on a strange island. He seeks refuge in the only pub of a desolate village; cafe Manitoba. Unfortunately the cafe is not quite the safe haven he had hoped for. The movie will have it's grand premiere at the IFFR.

06. Marzio Scholten 04.01.10, (Great jazz musician and composer from The Netherlands, IACW album coming out late 2010):
1. Haruki Murakami, amazing Japanese writer.
2. One In 8 Million, a beautiful series of photos and stories, which describe New York City by means of personal stories. Beautiful!
3. Kurt Rosenwinkel, one of the world's leading jazz guitarists, a truly unique new voice in modern jazz.
4. All About Jazz, leading online jazz magazine.
5. Bimhuis, one of the most beautiful jazz venues in Europe and the best in Holland.

05. Robert Tilli (Project leader at Music Center The Netherlands) 27.12.09:
1. Unsung Hero: Richard Hawley: England’s greatest crooner this side of Scott Walker and Nick Lowe.
2. Coolest music film of the moment:: Oil City Confidential, a Julien Temple film about the rise and fall of pre-punks Dr. Feelgood. (See it as a prequel to The Great Rock And Roll Swindle about the Sex Pistols and The Future Is Unwritten about Clash singer Joe Strummer).
3. Band that should be at number 1: The Cribs (featuring Johnny Marr!!! of The Smiths).
4. Best track of the decade: Everybody is putting together lists of this and that and the other, but, hey only one track (and video!) can be best: Hey Ya! By Outkast (2003).
5. Best goal of the decade: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ajax – NAC (August 2004).

04. Odilo Girod (Chop Wood/Coparck) 22.12.09:
1. As In a cabin with is a project full of cooperations.. with that in mind, here's Beck & Charlotte Gainsbourg - Heaven Can Wait. Beautiful video also.
2. First aid kit: two Swedish sisters doing it their own pretty way. Enchanting!
3. 22 tracks, an online jukebox consisting of playlists in different genres, each filled with 22 tracks. A quick overview of the latest music: 22tracks.
4. Avant la lettre, up and coming Dutch indie band.
5 - Reyn vs Coparck. A song from my band Coparck performed by our producer REYN who is an incredible musician also! Here he is playing all instruments and then looping them, quite a feat. You'll never find anything quite like it.

03. Bo Koek 14.12.09, (Amazing Dutch drummer: We'll make It Right, ex-Kopna Kopna, Les Frogs):
1. Amsterdam Interviews with Benny Sings and Les Frogs (WMIR members). Episode Two featuring Rednose Disctrict and the very first moments of We'll Make It Right. Amsterdam Interviews afl. 2. (sorry, in Dutch only)

3. Awesome Tapes from Africa. Check this hit and surf around the site! Obaa Sima.
4. Inspire me, Now! Inspire me, now!
5. Them Crooked Vultures. My first concert ever was supposed to be Nirvana, but than K.C. shot himself. A real bummer, cause i didn't get my money back, and i could never see Dave Growl play the drums in this legendary band. Them Crooked Vultures played live on lowlands this year and by accident i was there. It was smashing! I know, this is nothing new and everybody says so, but still, it inspired me again to become the greatest drummer in pop history.

02. Will Suter 07.12.09, (label manager for Honor Roll Music based in Miami, Florida):
1. Hudson Mohawke, Sick Scottish producer. Great dance and hip-hop beats.
2. Sleighbells, Great group from Brooklyn by way of Florida. The guy guitar player in the band used to mess around in hardcore groups and now has moved onto this fusion of dance/indie/hip hop with some heavy riffs. The girl in the group has a great voice, nice tattoos and commanding stage presence live.
3. Hexagon Torrent, Members only, torrent website started by Gary Fung, founder of isoHunt. A real sense of community.
4. SWEAT Records, The greatest record store in the world (and Miami). The owner, Lolo, does a lot of great in-stores, interviews and events/concerts that keep the Miami music scene a-float.
5. AMAZING video by the band Yeasayer for their newest single “Ambling Alp”, which they are giving away as a FREE MP3 on their website. This band is doing EVERYTHING right.
